Day 21
My name is Wells. I am one of The 100 that got sent down to Earth to see if it is survivable after being engulfed in radiation centuries ago (aka the Cataclysm). The 100 are all children and teenagers that have committed a crime(s). The chancellor sent us down here to determine if the rest of the people on the Arc (what we live in while up in space, a ring-like structure) can come down to survive. Oh, and did I mention that my dad is the chancellor? Yeah, that makes it so easy to survive down here. Five of us have already died though none from radiation exposure. All the deaths have been from attacks by the Earthborns. The Earthborns are the other people living on Earth that supposedly never left. How are they alive? I honestly don't know. They shouldn't have been able to survive the amount of radiation exposure that Earth was covered in. I am the only African-American and I am the one that has to dig all of the graves because no one else wants to.
Anyway, today is Day 21 of us being down on Earth. Yesterday, we were attacked by the Earthborns. They set fire to our camp and shot one of own: two arrows to the neck. Everyone is busy building cabins with wood that they found right outside of the camp walls in the forest. There isn't enough wood to make cabins for all 95 of us, so we have to take turns over who sleeps outside and who gets the luxury of sleeping in a cabin. Since the Earthborns set fire to our camp, a majority of our food is burned to a crisp. Also, since we found out the Earthborns somehow managed to survive the Cataclysm, we have been taking turns of guarding the walls. I usually get stuck doing all the night shifts because everyone else wants to sleep. I got to go to my post now.
My name is Clarke. I am also one of the 100 that got sent to Earth. I am seen as one of the "leaders" because I am the only one that is willing to stand up and take control. Right now, I am walking through the woods with Bellamy looking for his sister, Octavia. Bellamy and Octavia are two more of the 100. On the Arc, you were only allowed to have one child so the Arc would not get too cramped. Octavia's mom and Bellamy were successful with hiding her for about 16 years until the guards on the Arc found out and put Octavia in lock up just for being born. When Bellamy found out that his sister was one of the criminals picked to go to Earth, he shot the chancellor so he could get a spot on the ship to protect his sister. Bellamy would do anything for Octavia.
Around the time of the attack, Octavia went missing and Bellamy has made it his mission to find her: whatever it takes. We have been walking for two days now. We lost her tracks a little bit ago but Bellamy is determined to find her. As we were resting next to a stream, Bellamy caught sight of a footprint in the dirt on a path next to the stream. We found the trail again! As we followed the trail, I found a piece of metal that is from the Arc. Just then, something grabbed my arm and kept tightening its jaw around it! The last thing I remember before everything went silent is Bellamy telling me to stay with him.

I really like how you put a lot of imagery throughout the whole blog post. I heard of the show but never really got to watch but I saw the preview. I feel like you giving me more of a summary of the book. I really enjoyed the character Clarke. If I was to read the book just from you giving me that information about Clarke I feel like that would be my favorite character. She seems so outgoing and brave , and you really painted that picture for me in the text. In the end it leaves me on the edge of my seat which makes me want to read more. Ready to read your next blog I really enjoyed!
ReplyDeleteI like your blog but I feel like you just rewrote the story. Does each chapter in the story change characters? Your grammar was amazing and your punctuation was good. My favorite part was when you talked about Wells. I liked it because, he was one of my favorite characters in the television show. I loved how you told his opinions. I liked how you were very descriptive. I feel you could’ve added more for Clarke because you went from Clarke to Bellamy to Octavia. I still love how you were so descriptive on everything. Your grammar was amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWhat was hunting for tracks like? Exhausting? What did you do for food and water?
ReplyDeleteI like how you setup your blog as a first-person story telling us the story of your main character. I like how you made the character feel real and enjoyable. The background you gave on you gave on your character. You use the info you gave of your character to develop them in a good way. I also like how you made the situation there in to field dire. You showed how people dying how they were on an important mission to see if the earth was still livable. Over all you wrote a great entertaining story with great characters and setting.
ReplyDeleteNice feedback Ethan.
